Where passion for hospitality became a Vancouver landmark
Look, I'm not gonna feed you some corporate line about 'envisioning excellence' or whatever. The truth? Back in 2008, our founder Nova Ren Quinthal was staying at what was supposed to be a five-star hotel downtown, and honestly... it was kinda disappointing.
She thought, there's gotta be a better way to do this. A place where luxury doesn't mean stuffy, where elegance feels natural, not forced. Somewhere you'd actually want to hang out, y'know?
So she sold her tech startup (yeah, she had one of those), gathered a crew of hospitality pros who actually gave a damn, and got to work creating something different right here on Granville Street.
We've come a long way, but we're still that same team at heart
Acquired the historic building on Granville Street. It needed work - like, serious work - but the bones were perfect.
Opened our doors with 45 suites. The local press was... cautiously optimistic. We proved 'em wrong pretty quick.
Added the spa and fine dining restaurant. Also won our first hospitality award, which was pretty cool.
Became fully carbon-neutral. Sustainability isn't just trendy for us - it's the right thing to do.
Named in Conde Nast's top boutique hotels in Canada. Our staff cried happy tears - no joke.
Pandemic hit hard, but we pivoted. Supported local businesses, housed essential workers. Community first.
Refreshed all suites with local art and sustainable materials. Each room tells a Vancouver story now.
Still family-owned, still obsessed with getting the details right. And we're just getting started.
